Ohemaah | ETHIOPIAN / ERITREAN Dance [live]

Me and my coworker sistas performing a medley of cultural dances from Ethiopia and Eritrea. I borrowed choreography from my college days as a dancer (shout out to the original African Queens dance group of LMU!) as well as choreographing some new sequences for this one. This dance features 4 cultures: the first section is Amharic, the second is Oromo, the third Tigrigna, and the last is Gurage.

Ohemaah | “FUME FUME” Dance [live]

Me and my coworker sistas performing “Fume Fume,” a cultural dance of the Ga Adangbe people of Ghana. This dance features jumps and kicks as is typical of religious dances. My coworkers and I performed this version at work for our Black History Month cultural event. It was great to bring my childhood choreographed

This Is All That There Is – A Fisherman’s Journey Into An Enchanted Bay

When a fisherman heads out into a remote bay in search of plunder he soon realizes that what he is searching for has already found him.

It is only fitting that this is the land Pancho calls home, for only could a place like this forge a man like Pancho. A man who finds whales with his ears and wind with his eyes. Predicting the next days weather simply by heading up to high ground for a look across The Bay. Reading things beyond perception. Feeling the nuances of a place that can only be felt through knowledge gained over a lifetime spent in it’s presence.

Most of us have lost any and all connections to mother nature. Long gone are our animal instincts. Senses dulled by the safety and security technology affords us. Pancho is not most of us. He has not been victimized by the creature comforts of modern civilization. A life lived free. Days spent on the water. In the wild. Feral. A life lived here connects a man to these lands and waters in ways we simply cannot understand. To say this man wields a sharp sword is an understatement.
Pancho is the captain you never question, whether you understand what he is doing or not. More often than not the only thing you do understand is that Pancho understands. And that is enough. Operating on a higher plain, with a direct line to Neptune, what Pancho says, or doesn’t, is what goes.
I remember one day in particular, when I had first met Pancho. We were cruising The Bay for hours, covering miles and miles without seeing much, when out of the blue Pancho abruptly stops the panga, points to his ears and quietly says, “Escuchar.” Listen. With the motor off we sit. Five minutes. Ten minutes. Wondering what we are doing. Fifteen minutes. This dude must be tired, I think to myself, why else would we be stopping. Twenty minutes. And then, 20 feet from our boat, a blue whale! The largest animal to ever live! 100 feet long! Manifests itself with a booming breath as if showing up for a reservation only Pancho could make.

No matter how many times this type of thing happens, it never ceases to amaze me. It’s magic never wears off. Why did he stop there? Why now? How did he know? In the age of information we spend our time permanently connected to the internet googling everything, and more often than not learning nothing at all. While here, far out to sea, without a single bar of wifi, a deeper connection is made. Sometimes it’s better not to know. Knowing he knows is enough.

We have always been fascinated with people who followed their passions, lived with an almost singular focus, and done so successfully. Living the type of lives that don’t fit into our societal norms. The lives most people dream of. The ones that leave us wondering how these people pull it off? What did they do differently that not only allowed them to pursue their passions, but were actually able to do so with real success. Leading self sufficient, thriving lives in high risk, unconventional ways.

We spend our days seeking out these individuals and telling their stories through our short films. We have focused on artists, athletes, and adventurers that threw caution to the wind, laid it all on the line, and actually pulled it off!

Find out what makes these high performing individuals tick. Dive into the minds of some of our generations most fascinating humans through cinematic adventures told through our lens. We will be releasing teasers content and behind the scenes stories to go along with and build up to the release of the actual short films. We will be releasing new content across our social channels daily and new posts here bi weekly. So if you like what you see, subscribe and give us a follow so you don’t miss anything. In the meantime, buckle up, cause it’s gonna be a wild ride

Can I do the CyclesChallenge?? – Ohemaah – Vocal Riffs

Hey Fanily!

I love singing this particular vocal riff (probably because I love the song itself so much! Shout out to Jonathan McReynolds). Well, did I do it? Check out the original song here and let me know if you think I did it justice. Practice makes progress! And progress beats perfection every day of the week.
Let me know what song you’d like to see me cover next.

Ohemaah – Making the UNBROKEN Album | BEHIND THE SCENES

Hey “Fanily”! I hope you enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at where this album came from and how it went from concept to finished product. It took me a year to produce this album. It was a lot of hard work, some disappointments along the way (there always are! Ah, life…), and in the end a process that grew me up quite a bit. What was your favorite part about the peek behind the scenes? Drop a line in the comments and let me know

CRACKED BUT NOT SHATTERED Ohemaah’s LOFT SESSIONS PODCAST

Hey “Fanily”! In this episode I sat down with my friend Annie Joseph to discuss what “unbroken” (my album title) means to her. My favorite thing she said is that I might have some cracks, but I’m not shattered. Ain’t that the truth, especially after COVID19 and this crazy 2020 we’ve had! Pull up a chair next to us and let me know what “Unbroken” means to you. Shout out to everyone who’s been through something tough – you may have some cracks but thank God you’re not shattered.

If you like this video, give it a THUMBS UP, leave a COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE to my channel for more Loft Sessions! Don’t miss an episode 🙂

Taxes Pay Killer Cops – This is what’s really going on!! – George Floyd Investigation

The police will keep killing because the only thing that will stop them is when the money stops coming, and they have a system in place that prevents the money from ever stopping. Fear will make you pay for your own demise.

Please subscribe to “Taxation Is Theft” to get weekly video updates: http://bit.ly/2CUKmkU

The cop that killed George Floyd, whether on purpose or accident, has been charged with murder. Actions have consequences even if its accident. But was there a clear sign it was because of racism? Or is it just because, coincidentally, a white guy that killed a black guy is always claimed as racist, no matter what, and never something else?
